University of Texas at Austin

‘Keep Austin Weird’ is the motto and slogan for the vibrant and young city that almost 40,000 University of Texas undergraduate students call home for four years. A very active state research university that is part of the original ‘public ivies,’ the University of Texas leverages its sheer size to provide students with virtually unlimited resources to study and conduct research into nearly anything that may interest them. The school has 17 libraries, offers over 100 undergraduate degrees, hosts almost 3,000 faculty and has numerous research facilities including 300 acres of biological field laboratories, the world’s third largest telescope and one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world housed in the J.J. Pickle Research Campus. Consistently ranked as one of America’s best athletic colleges, students participate widely on intramural teams or attend popular sporting events like rivalry games against the Texas A&M Aggies while sporting the ‘Hook ‘Em Horns’ hand gesture.
