U.S. Air Force Academy

US Air Force Academy, USAFA, Military Academy, College Profile
The US Air Force Academy

The US Air Force Academy aims “to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become officers of character, motivated to lead the United States Air Force in service to our nation.” In addition to the usual metrics of academic achievement, leadership and character, admission is predicated on candidates passing fitness tests, medical examinations, and procuring a letter of support from a member of congress. Cadets are expected to complete an extensive core curriculum, receive Air Force military officer training, compete in several sports on either an intramural or intercollegiate level, pass several annual physical-fitness tests, and undergo intensive character and leadership development training. The school takes motivated individuals and turns them into model citizens who serve their county well past graduation.
