Admission to the UC and CSU schools as a freshman takes into account the specific courses (categories A - G)  you completed in high school, your grades in those classes, your test scores on the ACT or SAT, etc.

A) History  B) English  C) Mathematics  D) Laboratory science  E) Language other than English  F) Visual and performing arts  G) College-preparatory elective
