With a unique,pedestrian-friendly campus reminiscent of nearby Disney theme park Epcot, the University of Central Florida is the second-largest university in the country by enrollment, and along with the city of Orlando, offers students a vast array of resources for a well-rounded undergraduate education. UCF is a space-grant university that was initially chartered to support nearby Kennedy Space Center with highly-trained graduates in 1968, at the peak of the space race. Since then, it has broadened its scope significantly to include digital media, engineering and computer science, business administration, education, and hospitality management among others, and is recognized as one of the country’s top up-and-coming universities. The Central Florida Research Park borders the university, and as one of the largest research parks in the nation, provides students a myriad of work opportunities once they graduate. With over 200 degree options, 12 colleges and 11 separate satellite campuses the academic possibilities are endless. With the city of Orlando and all of its entertainment opportunities around the corner, students get get a big-city and big-college experience at the same time at the University of Central Florida.

Student Life The University of Central Florida encourages active student participation on campus and in the community through the Office of Student Involvement, the Multicultural Student Center, the Campus Activities Board and Volunteer UCF. With over 400 student organizations, an enormous intramural athletics program and well-attended sporting events, students have plenty to do on campus. Spirit Splash is regarded as one of the best collegiate traditions in the state of Florida, as student swim in the reflection pond during the homecoming pep rally.
