Coalition Application Losing Dartmouth and UVA

Dartmouth and the University of Virginia will no longer accept the Coalition Application for the 2019 – 2020 application cycle.  Both schools will continue utilizing the Common Application platform.

In 2015 The Coalition for Access, Affordability and Success announced plans to launch an alternative and competitor to the Common Application. Starting with 80-plus colleges — many of them among the more prestigious public and private institutions in the country — the number quickly grew to 140. Many counselors praised the application based on the Coalition’s goal of encouraging students to build portfolios throughout their high school years. Many in the college admissions field were pleased to have an alternative to the Common App which was plagued with technical problems in 2013.
