Boston College, Jesuit, Catholic college, college profile
Boston College

Boston College is a private Jesuit research university known for its comprehensive core curriculum, business, finance and theological training as well as its Division I athletics. Founded in 1863 with three teachers and 22 students mostly learning philosophy and theology, the college expanded dramatically, moved the Chestnut Hill and now boasts over 380 acres of space. Students come for the academically challenging curriculum and school spirit, which permeates campus on game day as students make their way to Alumni Stadium to watch the Eagles play.

Students take advantage of BC’s great athletics programs, bounty of student activities and proximity to Boston, which is just a few minutes away. While the sticker price upwards of $40,000 for tuition may be shocking, BC is known for its generous need blind financial aid program that ensures a diverse student body.
